'Tis the season for thinking of others and giving back. Even on the heels of a 24-12 victory over the Bills on Dec. 23, Stephon Gilmore made it a point to honor the holiday spirit by getting out in the Boston community. In doing so, he brightened the days of local families.
After Sunday's game, Stephon and his wife Gabrielle teamed up with the Boston Police Department to surprise two families. Stephon and Gabrielle brought both families gifts for the holidays and spent time talking with and getting to know them.
In an Instagram post, Stephon shared touching photos from the night and explained his motivation for wanting to do something for local families.
"It's the most wonderful time of year but I know firsthand from being one of six kids that holidays can be difficult for some and especially for big families," Stephon said. "It was great spending quality time with each family member and help them make the holidays a bit brighter! Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays."
With his own personal experience, Stephon knew how much of an impact new toys and other gifts can have on a family around the holidays. More than just donating gifts, the pictures from the night show Stephon and Gabrielle meeting both families, sitting in their living rooms, holding kids and spending quality time with them.
Even in the middle of the season, Stephon and Gabrielle show what it means to support those in need.
