Trick-or-treat or trick-or-cheat?

It's Halloween, you deserve a pass. Everything in moderation. Live a little.

Not so fast – or maybe I should say, you better move faster. That's what it's going to take tomorrow morning to make up for that bowl of "fun-sized" treats you're nibbling on today.

If this looks like your list of Halloween favorites, get ready to put in some sweat equity this weekend.

Candy corn: 160 calories per serving

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups: 110 calories per cup

York Peppermint Patty: 60 calories per serving

Two fun-sized bags of Peanut M&Ms: 180 calories

Three fun-sized bags of Skittles: 190 calories

So here's how you can burn off those extra sweets.

Push-ups
Although pushups are not considered aerobic activity, they still burn calories. When you perform 100 pushups, you can expect to burn about 100 calories, depending on how much you weigh and how fast you perform the exercise.

Increase the speed at which you complete your pushups and you'll also increase your breathing, heart rate and the total calories burned. The challenge is to continue to use muscle movement rather than momentum to perform the pushup.

Endurance workout
Pushups are not meant to be endurance activities, though, so if you've taken the full-out Hershey's plunge, then choose an activity such as power walking, jogging or my choice, a BMAX workout, which will burn more calories than 100 pushups. No equipment, no excuses, just push play!
