Tyler King following in Dad's footsteps

Steve King played linebacker for the Patriots from 1973-81. Now, his son Tyler is turning heads at the University of Connecticut at the defensive end position.

The younger King was chosen for the 2003 All-Independent Team by ESPN.com and collegefootballnews.com as first team defensive end.

For the season King had 77 total tackles, 17 tackles for a loss, 9 sacks, 2 passes defensed, and 2 forced fumbles.

He was awarded defensive game balls for Army and Akron games. King will be a senior this year.

UConn finished with a 9-3 record for 2003 and will enter the Big East in 2004.
