What They're Saying: Indianapolis Colts

On playing the Patriots...
"I think what they do is they do a great job of changing things up. Again, like we said, it's a game plan defense, if you will. They do a great job, just watching them against Denver, they do a great job of mixing things up. They're not going to give you the same thing over and over again. So for our offense, from a defensive standpoint for them for our offense, they do a great job of changing things up. Right when you think you've got the four guys identified as the four rushers, they bring different people and do a great job of hiding their fronts and coverages. The pace at which they can run their offense. The way that Tom's able to run everything and manage everything from the line of scrimmage, he does a great job of finding a way of getting them in the right play probably 99 percent of the time. He manages bad plays. They play great situational football. Obviously very well-coached. They take care of the football. Again, they're number one in the league right now in turnover margin, they're plus-12. I think they've only turned the ball over six times on offense and got a bunch of takeaways. Special teams, Scotty O'Brien's one of the best in the business, a top five unit every year. So they do a great job in all three phases and again the best thing they do is they make you beat them left-handed. He does a great job of identifying your strengths, tries to take those away from you and you've got to find a way to beat him some other way."

On the Patriots Defense...*
"You've got to expect something unexpected. They do a great job with their scheme and they have great players. I think that's why they've been so successful for so long and consistently. They do a great job in contesting every yard. We don't get free yards versus the Patriots. Quick, little passes are not easy. They're not simple. Nothing is simple for them. They play physical. They do a great job in the back end of disguising their coverage. You think. 'Oh they're doubling T.Y. (Hilton) the whole game,' nope, something different comes up."
*- Colts QB Andrew Luck

On Tom Brady...
"He's a great, great quarterback. It's hard to find any flaws in his game. He's done it for a long, long time. Again, there's nothing that he hasn't seen from a defensive standpoint. He's a great student of the game, we all know his talent. He does a great job with whoever they give him from a skillset standpoint. He's always found a way to get the ball in their hands and move the ball up and down the field. I think they're number two in scoring and putting a lot of points on the board. Again, just like we talked about Ben (Roethlisberger), I mean this guy's a first-ballot no-brainer Hall-of-Famer. So you've just got to try to do the best you can to slow him down."
- Colts Head Coach Chuck Pagano

On containing Rob Gronkowski...
"Gronk, he's a beast. He's a mismatch. He's a very, very big body. His catch diameter, his catch radius is so big, it's kind of hard to guard him at times. You just have to try your best to smother him and do whatever you can to stop them. Sometimes it's just not good enough. You see the plays he makes every week. You just do what you can and hope for the best result."
- Colts Safety Sergio Brown

"We've got to figure out a way to slow him down. He's obviously a game-wrecker and playing extremely well. He's hurt us in the past; he's hurt everybody. He's a great player and we've got to find a way to slow him down."
*- Colts Head Coach Chuck Pagano

On the Patriots secondary...**
"They've always been good back there. They've always had playmakers back there. They've got two great ones in the two guys that you just mentioned. I look at the rest of the guys, [Malcolm] Butler coming in and playing well and [Kyle] Arrington and of course [Devin] McCourty and [Patrick] Chung. They've got a great unit back there. Obviously [Defensive Coordinator] Matt Patricia and the defensive staff do a great job. They're very well coached. They're very aggressive. They do a great job of disguising. They do a great job in coverage. They get their hands on you. They make it very, very difficult. They force the quarterback to do a ton of thinking pre-snap and post. They make you work. That's a credit to that group and the coaching. They make it awful difficult; you have to throw it into tight coverage because they're going to be all over you. They do a great job of it. "
*- Colts Head Coach Chuck Pagano

"In my 14 years of playing New England, this has probably been the best complete secondary. I think it allows them to do more things up front with the front seven guys they hadn't done probably during the past years. They're very talented. They're ball-hungry. They're definitely talented. It gives them a little bit to where they can be more risk takers with blitzes and things of that nature. It's definitely going to be a challenge for us: receivers, tight ends. It's a challenge that we look forward to and hopefully we go out there mano-a-mano and see who can win at the end of the day. "
*- Colts Wide Receiver Reggie Wayne
