Jerod Mayo joined the NFL as a New England Patriot and now he appears to be leaving the league as one too. On Tuesday, **the veteran linebacker turned to social media to announce his retirement** in a note thanking the team ownership, coaches and fans for their support during his eight-year career. It wasn't long after that tributes began to pour in from Jerod's teammates past and present, including Devin McCourty, Vince Wilfork and Duron Harmon.
