ASHBURN, Va. (May 17, 2005) -- The Washington Redskins waived rookie tight end David Kashetta to make room on the roster for newly signed linebacker Warrick Holdman.
Kashetta went undrafted out of Boston College.
Last week, Washington initially said it was getting the 6-foot-1, 235-pound Holdman, but his signing was made official today.
Holdman played in 75 games over six seasons with the Chicago Bears and Cleveland Browns, making 63 starts. He started 14 games for Cleveland last season, finishing second on the team with 110 tackles.
The Redskins need a replacement at middle linebacker for Antonio Pierce, who signed as a free agent with the New York Giants.
