What They're Saying: Buffalo Bills

Find out what Buffalo Bills coaches and players are saying about their upcoming game against the New England Patriots.

[wysifield-embeddedaudio|eid="385221"|type="embeddedaudio"|view_mode="full"]On whether they have a score to settle after the first game...
"We're gonna show up and we're gonna come into that game expecting to win and we realize we've got to improve a zillion times better than we were the last game. We get it. We know we're a better football team we'll find out how much better."

  • Bills Head Coach Rex Ryan*

On going against the Patriots without Julian Edelman...
"It is going to be different because you know they like to give him the ball. But 80 [Danny Amendola] can run the same routes he runs. So you've got to be prepared to treat him like [Julian Edelman]."
- Bills Cornerback Stephon Gilmore

"With somebody like (Tom) Brady, no matter who they put out there he knows who to go to and where to put the ball and it's still going to be a tough challenge. It doesn't matter who they have at receiver as long as they have number 12 out there he's going to get the job done so we've got to bring our 'A' game."
- Bills Safety Baccari Rambo

On preparing for the Patriots...
"Going against the New England Patriots you got to really watch a lot of film on those guys. Those guys are so good at what they do, you got to really know what you are doing. Nobody can mess up, everybody on the field, got to be on the right page, all 11 guys got to be prepared. You got to eliminate all the mistakes, and go out there and play fast and play hard because they are going to do the same thing."
- Bills WR Sammy Watkins

"Against New England you don't have to be perfect, you almost, you got to be pretty darn close to perfect. And [Tom] Brady may have to have an off day. Something has to give, you have to make it to where it is difficult for him and we got to have a great game. We can't have the penalties. You go back to that second week of the season and it is like oh my gosh it is embarrassing. We are embarrassed by it. But we really did, ever since that time we got a better feel for each other, we came back off that bye and it is like our commitment to each other, commitment to getting better, doing those types of things, trying our best."
- Bills Head Coach Rex Ryan

[wysifield-embeddedaudio|eid="385226"|type="embeddedaudio"|view_mode="full"]On Tom Brady...
"I don't know what is driving him he has got all the rings, he has got all this stuff. But there is something internal that drives that guy. He is in phenomenal shape, this might be as good as shape as he been in, and maybe knowing when you get up there in age you have to be in great shape. He is that way, he is moving well, his accuracy is like crazy."
- Bills Head Coach Rex Ryan

On whether he is obsessed with the Patriots...
"It's no different than any other week. That's the honest to goodness truth. Now the reason they say obsessed, I want what they have. They've won some rings or whatever. I ain't kissing them, but I respect them. I admire the fact that they've been that successful through the years. But that's what I'm chasing. I want to win, man. I mean that's as simple as that and to do it…if you really want to be the very best then you gotta go ahead and beat this team. You got to find ways to beat them and that's what drives me. I don't want to just beat some…you know some whoever."
- Bills Head Coach Rex Ryan
