Behren Morton was drafted by the New England Patriots in the seventh round (234th overall) of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Behren Morton played in 42 games and completed 793-of-1,263 career passes (62.8%) for 8,986 yards and 71 touchdowns.
- Led Texas Tech to its first Big 12 Conference title in history and an appearance in the College Football Playoff.
- Moved into fourth all-time in Texas Tech history for career passing yards (8,989), career touchdown passes (71), career passing attempts (1,263), career touchdowns responsible for (78) and career total yards of offense (8,951) as a senior, trailing only the likes of Graham Harrell (2025-08), Kliff Kingsbury (1999-02) and Patrick Mahomes II (2014-16) in each of those categories.
- Became the first Red Raider in school history to throw for 2,500 yards in back-to-back seasons with 8 or fewer interceptions.

Redshirt Senior Year (2025)
- Started at quarterback in 12 of 14 games as a senior, missing two Big 12 contests at Arizona State (10/18) and versus Oklahoma State (10/25) due to injury. Threw for 2,780 yards and 22 touchdowns after completing 219-of-332 passes on the season.
- Became the first Texas Tech quarterback to lead the Red Raiders to an outright conference crown since Buddy Hill in 1955.
- His 66.0 completion percentage led the Big 12 and marked the highest single-season mark of his career.
- One of 11 FBS quarterbacks to throw for at least 2,500 yards and 20 touchdowns with six or few interceptions and one of three to do so from the Big 12.
- Threw for at least 200 yards in eight of his 12 starts on the season and hit the 300-yard mark three times, including twice during Big 12 play.
Redshirt Junior Year (2024)

- Threw for at least 200 yards in 11 of his 12 starts with the lone exception being at TCU (10/26) where he departed at halftime due to injury.
- Recorded four 300-yard outings, including two that capped Big 12 play.
- Averaged 262.3 passing yards per game against conference opponents to help push the Red Raiders to six Big 12 victories for the first time since 2008.
- Responsible for 28 total touchdowns (27 passing, 1 rushing) for a Red Raider offense that ranked ninth in the FBS for scoring at 37.6 points per game.
Redshirt Sophomore Year (2023)
- Played in 10 games with eight starts after beginning the season as the backup quarterback and earning the starting role by the second game of the season. Completed 182-of-293 passes on the season (62.1 percent) for 1,757 yards and 15 touchdowns.
- Rushed 46 times for three yards but had 4 rushing touchdowns.
- Closed the year ranked seventh in the league for completion percentage (.621) and completions per game (18.2) as well as ninth in passing touchdowns (15).
Redshirt Freshman Year (2022)
- Played in nine games with four starts and completed 96-of-169 passes on the season (56.8 percent) for 1,117 yards and 7 touchdowns.
- Part of a Texas Tech offense that became only the second FBS program since 1996 to have three different quarterbacks throw for at least 1,000 yards in a season.
- Averaged 233.8 passing yards in games started and 285.3 passing yards per game in starts where he finished the game.
- Recorded two 300-yard games on the season, the first of his career.
- Of his 96 completions, 48 went for at least 10 yards, while 14 were for 20 or more yards.
Freshman Year (2021)
- Appeared in two games as a backup quarterback, seeing action at Kansas (10/16) and vs. Oklahoma State (11/20).
- Completed 1-of-3 passes for 0 yards and rushed 2 times for 15 yards vs. Oklahoma State (11/20).
PERSONAL
- Attended Eastland High School (Texas) and totaled over 8,800 passing yards over three seasons, along with 84 passing touchdowns. Added 1,200 rushing yards and 24 rushing touchdowns.
- Also played basketball and was a first team All-District 6-3A honoree as a junior.
- Son of James and Suni Morton and has two older sisters, McKayla and Maggie.
- Father, James, was a 2009 inductee into the West Texas A&M Hall of Champions for his time as a standout running back for the Buffs. He was later signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for two seasons.
- Graduated from Texas Tech in May 2025.
