SEASONAL REVIEWS

2023 (17/17)

Started in all 17 games at safety. Collected 107 tackles (70 solo, 37 assists), 11/2 sacks for a loss of 9.5 yards, 2 interceptions, 6 tackles for loss, 7 passes defensed, 1 forced fumble, 5 quarterback hits and 2 special teams tackles.
Had a critical fumble recovery in the third quarter vs. Miami (9/17) on a blocked field goal by DB Brendon Schooler.
Collected 7 tackles (5 solo, 2 assists), 1 tackle for loss and 1 pass defensed at the N.Y. Jets (9/24) as the starting safety. Had a key fourth down tackle late in the fourth quarter and his pass defense sealed the 15-10 win for New England.
Registered a career-high 15 total tackles at Dallas (10/1), the highest tackle output by a Patriots player since LB Ja'Whaun Bentley had 17 total tackles on Jan. 9, 2022 at Miami.

Played in 15 games with 15 starts and recorded 69 total tackles (46 solo, 23 assist). Also recorded three interceptions, two of which he returned for touchdowns, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery for a touchdown, one sack, nine special teams tackles and one kickoff return for 37 yards.
Served as one of the starting safeties.
Was inactive due to injury vs. Baltimore (9/25) and at N.Y. Jets (10/30).
Became the first New England player since 1970 with three defensive touchdowns in a single season. He had a 59-yard fumble returned for a touchdown vs. Detroit (10/9), a 16-yard interception returned for a touchdown at Las Vegas (12/18) and a 39-yard interception returned for a touchdown vs. Miami on (1/1).

Appeared in just seven games as a senior in 2020 but was impactful enough to win the Cliff Harris Award, which is given to the best defensive player in NCAA Division II.
Is the only player in school history to have two games with two punt returns for touchdowns.
Finished as the school's all-time leader in punt-return yards.

Appeared in 42 games during his career at Lenoir-Rhyne and totaled 237 tackles, 10 interceptions, 36 passes defensed, six forced fumbles and six fumble recoveries.
Also returned 67 punts for a school-record 929 yards and six touchdowns.
Despite playing in just seven games due to injury as a senior in 2019, Dugger was impactful enough to win the Cliff Harris Award, given to the best defensive player in NCAA Division II. Was also named a D2Football.com First Team All-American while the AFCA and D2CCA awarded him Second Team All-American honors.
Became the only player in Lenoir-Rhyne history to have two games with punt returns for touchdowns.

Kyle Dugger is the first Patriots player to be drafted out of Lenoir-Rhyne and with the 37th overall pick, he is also the highest drafted player ever from Lenoir Rhyne. He is also the highest drafted defensive back from a Division II school since S Danieal Manning was drafted by Chicago in 2006 in the second round out of Abilene Christian.
Dugger won the 2019 Cliff Harris Award given to the best defensive player in NCAA Division II.
