Gronkowski to race in Kentucky Derby ... no, not that one

Hold your horses. A Gronkowski will be racing in the Kentucky Derby in May.

Rob Gronkowski knows how to steal the spotlight -- even if it's with a simple but eccentric outfit. He did it once at the Kentucky Derby a few years back with a, um, wild plaid suit, but for this year's Derby, he won't be the only Gronkowski getting attention.

No, we're not talking about Gordie, Chris, Dan or Glenn. This Gronkowski is of the four-legged variety.

A horse named Gronkowski will be running in the greatest two minutes in sports. That's right. A horse named after Gronk.

Gronkowski's trainer Jeremy Noseda told At The Races last month that Gronk was a great name for the horse that stands at almost the same height as Patriot.

"He has size and scope, that's why he's called Gronkowski. The player himself is six-foot-six and six-foot-six wide," he said.

The Kentucky Derby is allowing one slot in the race for a European-based horse, and Gronkowski recently earned his spot in the May 5 race. And with a name like Gronk, the horse will surely find a friendly crowd when he comes to the U.S.

Now, we patiently wait for a picture of the two Gronkowskis, but that's a horse of a different color.
