News Blitz 11/28: Bennett and Ebner to IR

Today’s Patriots.com News Blitz includes continued coverage of New England’s latest win as well as word that a couple more key players are done for the season.

The Patriots, like seemingly every other NFL team this season, continue to be hit pretty hard with injuries. And the hits, they keep on a coming!

The Boston Globe notes that the latest names added to injured reserve -- a list that already includes Julian Edelman and Dont'a Hightower – are tight end Martellus Bennett with a hamstring injury and special teamer Nate Ebner with a knee injury suffered on a fake punt in Sunday’s win. Speaking of the beatdown of the Dolphins, the Globe observes that the Patriots finally showed they can get after the quarterback in the victory. The Globe recaps some of the key plays from the latest New England win.

The Globe notes that Bill Belichick continues to voice his support for Greg Schiano, who was hired and then let go in a matter of hours by the University of Tennessee over the weekend.

In case you missed it, the Globe has a story about Nate Solder and his family facing their young son’s battle with cancer.

The Boston Herald's Patriots report card describes Sunday's performance as “another quick and easy knockout.” Herald columnist Steve Buckley says the Schiano mess does not leave Tennessee looking good. The Herald says New England's pass rush is now rolling, but can that continue? The *Herald *Patriots notebook notes Bennett heading to IR. The *Herald *also looks back and breaks down the win over Miami.

WEEI.com has Belichick explaining his one-week-at-a-time coaching philosophy on the station's afternoon show. WEEI.com notes that the Patriots and Steelers have separated themselves in the AFC playoff picture as the teams head toward a Dec. 17 meeting in Pittsburgh.

MassLive.com keeps the Patriots at No. 2 in their power rankings as well.
