Satisfying Moment of the Game presented by SNICKERS®: The closer strikes again

Sometimes something as simple as a play of the game can be almost impossible to produce. Sunday’s game in Pittsburgh was one such example.

Sometimes something as simple as a play of the game can be almost impossible to produce. Sunday's game in Pittsburgh was one such example.

After each Patriots win we pick our most satisfying moment of the game. In most weeks it's a relatively easy chore. The win over the Steelers was a bit different.

There were so many options to choose from – heck we could have used about three different catches by Rob Gronkowski alone. But there can only be one truly satisfying moment each week and went with the final play of the game.

The Patriots were clinging to a 27-24 lead with less than 10 seconds left and the Steelers sitting just 7 yards from victory. With the clock winding down, Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger tried to organize his team and signaled out to wide receiver Eli Rogers on the right side of the formation.

When the ball was snapped, Roethlisberger faked a spike and looked at Rogers, who was streaking toward the middle of the field in the end zone. Eric Rowe was trailing him slightly as a number of other Patriots were in the area. Despite the heavy traffic, Roethlisberger tried to squeeze it to Rogers and Rowe made a diving deflection to prevent the completion.

Duron Harmon was waiting to the left of the action and caught the carom in the end zone to put an end to the Steelers threat. It was a thrilling end to a dramatic game and represented the Snickers satisfying moment for the week.
