FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots are proud to announce that rookie K Andy Borregales has been named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in the Patriots, 26-20, victory over the Cincinnati Bengals last week. Borregales is the fifth Patriots rookie to earn an AFC Special Teams Player of the Week award since 2000, joining Marcus Jones (Week 11 in 2022), Jake Bailey (Week 3 and 11 in 2019), Laurence Maroney (Week 7 in 2006) and Bethel Johnson (Week 13 in 2003).
Borregales converted a career-high four field goals at Cincinnati. He made a 41-yard field goal with 0:28 left in the second quarter, a 45-yard field goal with 1:04 left in the third quarter, a 19-yard field goal with 5:55 left in the fourth quarter and a 52-yard field goal with 1:51 left in the fourth quarter.
It is the fourth time in 2025 that the Patriots have been awarded an AFC Player of the Week honor. In addition, the Patriots were awarded an AFC Defensive Player of the Month for October.
