Patriots make two trades; Claim rookie OL

The New England Patriots acquired S Jarrad Page in a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs for undisclosed draft considerations and LB Tracy White in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles for undisclosed draft considerations.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots acquired S Jarrad Pagein a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs for undisclosed draft considerations and LB Tracy White in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles for undisclosed draft considerations.

In addition, the Patriots claimed and were awarded rookie T Steve Maneri off waivers from Houston and released LB Tyrone McKenzie.

Page, 6-0, 225 pounds, is a veteran of four NFL seasons after originally joining Kansas City as a seventh-round draft pick out of UCLA in 2006. He has played in 53 games with 39 starts and has accumulated 204 total tackles, 10 interceptions, four forced fumbles and 17 special teams tackles. In addition he has played in one postseason game, registering five tackles and one interception. Of his 11 total interceptions, five have come inside the five-yard line. After starting all 16 games at free safety in 2007 and 2008, Page was limited to just five starts due to a calf injury that forced him to finish the season on injured reserve.

White, 6-0, 234 pounds, is a veteran of seven NFL seasons with Seattle (2003-04), Jacksonville (2005), Green Bay (2006-08) and Philadelphia (2008-09). He was originally signed by Seattle as a rookie free agent out of Howard in 2003. After two seasons with the Seahawks, he was waived prior to the start of the 2005 season and claimed by Jacksonville. He signed with Green Bay in 2006 before being waived on Oct. 7, 2008. He was signed by Philadelphia on Oct. 14, 2008. A standout special teams player, White has registered 94 special teams tackles, including a team-leading 18 special teams tackles for Philadelphia in 2009.

Maneri, 6-6, 290 pounds, was signed by Houston as a rookie free agent on May 7, 2010 out of Temple. He played in 45 games with 25 starts as a tight end for Temple.

McKenzie, 6-2, 245 pounds, was drafted by the Patriots in the third round (97th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft out of South Florida. He missed the entire 2009 training camp due to an injury and was placed on injured reserve on Aug. 31 and missed his rookie season.
