Patriots Post Highest TV Ratings of Season

The CBS featured 4:15 game, shown locally on WBZ, was the highest-rated Patriots game of the season

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots (8-3) soared past the Philadelphia Eagles (4-7) by the score of 38-20 at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday, Nov. 27. The CBS featured 4:15 game, shown locally on WBZ, was the highest-rated Patriots game of the season, based on the early overnight projections with a 38.7 household rating.

Of their 10 games with recorded ratings, eight games have been in the 30s, including six which have eclipsed a 35-rating. Yesterday's mark of 38.7 surpassed the previous season high of 38.5, which was recorded three weeks ago against the New York Giants (Nov. 6, 2011).

Coincidently, the Patriots' Week 12 ratings record was set in 2007 against the Philadelphia Eagles (39.5).

Viewership increased throughout the game. At the 4:15 p.m. kickoff, the HH ratings opened at 33.3 before peaking at 42.4 at approximately 6:45 p.m. The ratings never dipped below the initial kickoff report and steadily increased throughout the broadcast of the game as the Patriots began to soar past the Eagles during the second half.

Furthermore, CBS' late afternoon regionalized coverage of the game drew a 15.6 overnight HH rating, the highest overnight NFL rating of the weekend between CBS and FOX.

New England welcomes the Indianapolis Colts (0-11) to Gillette Stadium for a 1:00 p.m. scheduled kickoff on Sunday, Dec. 4. The game will air at 1:00 p.m. on CBS, WBZ in Boston.
