FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - Hundreds of cyclists will ride through Patriot Place, the gateway to Gillette Stadium, during this summer's Pan-Massachusetts Challenge.

The new finish line and water stop at Patriot Place represent the partnership between the New England Patriots and the Pan-Mass Challenge. The Patriots have sponsored a 125-member team in the PMC for the last four years

The newest of the 11 PMC routes - a 25-mile, Sunday ride that starts at Babson College in Wellesley - will finish at Patriot Place. The site will also serve as a water stop for cyclists who ride Sunday's 50-mile loop and those who will ride the two-day route that finishes at Babson College in Wellesley.

The PMC is the nation's most successful athletic fundraising event, annually raising more money for charity than any other. Since its 1980 inception, the PMC has raised and contributed $338 million to cancer research and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

"The new, world class finish line and water stop will make the ride more exciting and user-friendly for those who ride our 25- and 50-mile Sunday routes and for Babson College finishers," says PMC Founder and Executive Director Billy Starr. "We are grateful to the New England Patriots for extending their hospitality and are excited to further strengthen our relationship with the team."

Riders will enter Patriot Place through Putnam Parkway, a private entrance to the stadium grounds.

"Patriot Place is a great location for friends and family to gather and cheer on PMC riders," says Brian Earley, general manager of Patriot Place. "It is a lively and fun atmosphere with plenty of parking and many attractions. Patriot Place is a great fit for the PMC and we are happy to support the event and its fundraising efforts for Dana-Farber."

About the Pan-Massachusetts Challenge
The PMC is a pioneer in the athletic fundraising event industry and today raises more money for charity than any other in the country. On August 4 and 5, 2012, 5,500 cyclists will travel one of 11 routes, logging between 25 and 190 miles over one or two days, through 46 Massachusetts cities and towns. Their collective goal is to raise $36 million for cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through its Jimmy Fund and bring the organization's 33-year fundraising total to more than $374 million.
