Tom Brady Postgame Press Conference Transcript

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady addresses the media during his postgame press conference at Bank of America Stadium on Monday, November 18, 2013.

**

Q: **Did you get any explanation about the last play?

TB:He didn't say anything. I didn't really see the play either so I don't know whether it was a good call or a bad call. But we had plenty of chances. I'm not making any excuses. We could have done a better job tonight. When you play a good teams on the road you have to play good for 60 minutes, and we didn't. We played OK. Shot ourselves in the foot too many times. I'm disappointed to lose but we have another big one coming up this week.

Q:Did you know they threw a flag?

TB:I don't make the calls or the rules. I don't know. Like I said, I didn't see it. I wish it wouldn't have come down to that. I think there are plenty of plays we could have made. But it did, and they are going to make a call or they are not going to make a call… We can play better than that.

On the third-and-one play where he threw it out of the end zone...

TB:I wish we would have converted it. We didn't execute great. We had an opportunity. That was a big play in the game and we didn't come up with it. There were a few of those in the game where we make the play and it puts a lot more pressure on them. And that was one of the critical ones. Third-and-ones you have to make, especially on the road. And we lost some close ones on the road. Three of them all pretty close game so we have to find a way to win them.

Q:was the last pass catchable?

TB:He was kinda weaving in and out of there and I didn't really want to throw it over his head and out of bounds. So I was a little indecisive. It wasn't a great throw. No excuses. It should have been a better throw.

On the importance of touchdowns vs. field goals...

TB:Well especially against a good defensive team. We knew they were pretty good statistically in a lot of the categories. And we had a lot of opportunities to get down there. We moved the ball pretty well. We just couldn't punch it in and get enough points. We had plenty of chances. We just didn't get it done.

Q:How was the pressure on the quarterback?

TB:They got a couple sacks and then really nothing until the last drive where they had a little pressure but it's a passing situation. They have a good front and they get after the quarterback but we had plenty of chances. We didn't play our best. They played better than we did. They made a few more plays. That's just the way it goes sometimes.
