Tom vs. Time 5: Gaining perspective

The fifth installment of Tom vs. Time aired on Sunday.

The fifth installment of "Tom vs. Time" dropped on Sunday afternoon, and it focuses on "The Spiritual Game." From surfing in Costa Rica to the grind of the season, Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen discuss perspective, his future and the love of the game.

It opens with serene scenes from Costa Rica with Tom hitting the waves and working out with Gisele. The couple talks a lot about Tom's passion for the game and what it means for their future.

"Football is, as far as I'm concerned, his first love," Gisele said. "It really is. I think it's his main love really quite frankly."

Tom didn't deny it.

"When I'm out on the field with 70,000 people, I can really be who I am with my raw emotion and energy," Tom said. "If I want to scream at somebody, I can scream at somebody. That's probably why I love football so much because it allows me to be who I am in a very authentic way that's very hard for me to be when I walk off the field."

For Tom, according to Gisele, the game of football is meditative, and growing with the game and in the spotlight has helped Tom figure out what was important to him and his family. It's about the perspective that he has gained.

"When you're young you don't have perspective. You hit this point where you're like I'm not a kid anymore, then you have a little more perspective in your life. You know what's important," Tom said. "You know what's not important. I'm not putting energy or focusing on things that I don't deem important even though other people might say, 'Man, this is really important.' I'm like no it's not. That's not important at all. I'm going to deem what's important for me."
