FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced today the signing of TE Tyler Davis, TE Cole Fotheringham and C Alec Lindstrom. In addition, T Yasir Durant has been waived-injured and WR Demeer Blankumsee and RB Trayveon Williams have been released.
Davis, 28, originally entered the NFL as a sixth-round draft pick (206th overall) of the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2020 NFL Draft out of Georgia Tech. The 6-foot-5, 252-pounder, was released by Jacksonville at the end of training camp in 2021 and was signed by Indianapolis to the practice squad. Davis was signed by Green Bay off the Indianapolis practice squad on Sept. 28, 2021. Overall, he has played in 39 games with one start and has 8 receptions for 61 yards. Davis spent the last two seasons on the Green Bay practice squad.
Fotheringham, 27, originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with the Las Vegas Raiders on May 13, 2022 out of Utah. The 6-foot-4, 245-pounder, spent his first two seasons (2022-23) on the Raiders practice squad before being elevated for two games late in the season. Fotheringham was released by Las Vegas at the end of the 2024 training camp and spent time during the year on the practice squads of both Houston and Las Vegas. Fotheringham was signed by Denver on May 12, 2025 but was released on June 5, 2025.
Lindstrom, 27, spent the last two springs playing for the Memphis Showboats of the UFL. The 6-foot-3, 300-pounder, is a native of Dudley, Ma. and played college football at Boston College. He originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with the Dallas Cowboys in 2022 and spent the season on the practice squad. After being released by Dallas after training camp in 2023, he spent the spring of 2024 with the Memphis Showboats. Lindstrom signed with the Los Angeles Rams on Aug. 6, 2024 but was released before the start of the regular season. Lindstrom was signed by the New York Jets practice squad on Oct. 9, 2024 and then signed to the 53-man roster on Oct. 31 and made his NFL debut on special teams vs. Houston. He was released by the Jets on Nov. 16, 2024.
Durant, 27, was signed by the Patriots on June 24, 2025. He originally entered the NFL in 2020 as a rookie free agent with Kansas City out of Missouri. The 6-foot-6, 330-pounder, was traded by Kansas City to New England in 2021, where he played in eight games with one start at right tackle and as a tackle-eligible tight end in addition to serving on extra point and field goal units. Durant was signed by New Orleans as a free agent in 2022 and spent training camp with Denver in 2023 before being released ahead of the regular season. Overall, Durant has played in 20 games with two starts. He spent the 2024 and 2025 seasons in the UFL with the DC Defenders. Last season, he started every game at left tackle for the championship-winning Defenders and was named to the All-UFL team.
Blankumsee, 23, was signed by New England as a rookie free agent on May 9, 2025 out of Memphis. The 5-foot-10, 192-pounder, began his college career at Toledo (2020-22), before transferring to Memphis for his final two seasons.
Williams, 27, was signed by New England as a free agent on May 14, 2025. The 5-foot-8, 206-pounder, has spent the last six seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals after originally joining the team as a sixth-round draft pick (182nd overall) in the 2019 NFL Draft out of Texas A&M. He has played in 68 regular season games and has 62 rushing attempts for 307 yards and 15 receptions for 74 yards. He has also returned 33 kicks for 743 yards. Last season, he played in all 17 games for the Bengals mostly on special teams.
