There's just over a week left in the offseason before training camp begins, but Drake Maye has gone back to work on his own accord.

This week, the New England Patriots quarterback corralled a handful of his offensive teammates to work out and build chemistry down in North Carolina. By the end of the week, he was back in New England to throw to some much shorter and younger targets.

"It's awesome," Maye said of his youth football camp in Foxborough on Friday morning – the second of three events he held in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

"We had like 400 to 500 kids show up. Local kids from Foxborough here right by the stadium. We're out here playing with kids, having a good time, taking some pictures and throwing the ball around. It puts a smile on my face and it's awesome to be out here."

Maye's first youth camp was in Londonderry, New Hampshire on Thursday evening, with boys and girls from ages 6 to 16 taking over Londonderry High School for drills and skills challenges with the Patriots quarterback. Football players from Londonderry High School volunteered at the camp to help run drills.

The football fun continued Friday with a double header.

Maye stayed close to his New England home at Foxborough High School with a camp that lasted from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. After that, he traveled out to Central Mass. for his third and final camp at Auburn High School in Auburn, Mass.

Hundreds of kids registered for each of the three camps and were given special T-shirts with the Drake Maye Youth Football Camp logo on them.

Still, many kids sprinkled throughout the crowd opted to wear their No. 10 Patriots jerseys, a full circle moment for Maye, who was once a young kid getting inspired to play in the NFL at a Carolina Panthers camp.
