Bengals cut LB Navies, waive guard Vieira

The Bengals released linebacker Hannibal Navies and waived guard Steven Vieira to reach the 75-man roster limit. Navies, an eight-year veteran, signed with the Bengals as a free agent before last season and played in 15 games, including one start.

CINCINNATI (Aug. 29, 2006) -- The Bengals released linebacker Hannibal Navies and waived guard Steven Vieira to reach the 75-man roster limit.

Navies, an eight-year veteran, signed with the Bengals as a free agent before last season and played in 15 games, including one start.

Vieira signed with Cincinnati as an undrafted player out of UCLA last year. He hurt his foot and didn't appear in a game. He finished the season on the practice squad.
