Bills' Whitner suffered separated shoulder vs. Jets

Buffalo safety Donte Whitner has a separated right shoulder and isn't likely to play Sunday at New England. Bills coach Dick Jauron says Whitner's status is week-to-week after he was hurt in the second half Sunday against the Jets.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Buffalo safety Donte Whitner has a separated right shoulder and isn't likely to play Sunday at New England.

Bills coach Dick Jauron says Whitner's status is week-to-week after he was hurt in the second half Sunday against the Jets.

Whitner was the Bills' first-round draft pick in 2006 out of Ohio State.

Buffalo has fallen to 5-3 after winning their first four as injuries continue to deplete the defense.
