Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount is on this week's cover of Sports Illustrated.

Running backs tend to get some attention when they help their team advance in the postseason with four rushing touchdowns. Not to mention when they've scored eight rushing TDs in their last three games, with at least two scores in each of those contests.

As such, Sports Illustrated chose New England running back LeGarrette Blount for its cover this week. The photo shows Blount running toward the camera, and the end zone, on his 73-yard touchdown to shut the door on the Colts in last Saturday night's win in the divisional round at Gillette Stadium.

SI used the cover words "Blount Force Drama" as a bit of a spin on the "Blount Force Trauma" headlines that have been making the rounds of late. Heck, Blount himself is selling Blount Force Trauma t-shirts to capitalize on his new-found fame and success as the Patriots are on the cusp of another Super Bowl.

The only question is whether people still believe in the SI cover jinx? Because the Patriots certainly will need Blount -- who has run for 431 yards in the last three games and 355 in the last two -- to get things rolling in the Rocky Mountains in this Sunday afternoon's AFC Championship Game in Denver.

Jinx? What Jinx? Blount's on such a roll right now he will probably run over, around and away from the SI jinx.
