Jaguars sign ex-Vikings punter Johnson

The Jacksonville Jaguars signed free-agent punter Eddie Johnson and waived first-year free-agent punter David Brader. Johnson was waived by the New York Giants on March 24 and did not play in the NFL last season.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (June 23, 2005) -- The Jacksonville Jaguars signed free-agent punter Eddie Johnson and waived first-year free-agent punter David Brader.

Johnson was waived by the New York Giants on March 24 and did not play in the NFL last season. As a rookie with the Minnesota Vikings in 2003, he punted 56 times with a 39.1-yard average with 12 punts inside the 20.

Brader had attended Jacksonville's minicamp as a workout player before signing on May 11.
