FOXBOROUGH, MASS. (Oct. 15, 2009) - In mid-September, the beginning of National Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15-Oct. 15), the New England Patriots launched Football Patriotico, a blog featuring original Spanish-language content. Blog entries are written in an manner accessible to all Spanish dialects.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, in approximately 875,225 Latinos call New England home. The Patriots also have eight registered Spanish-speaking fan clubs on Patriots.com, including clubs in Central America, South America and Spain.
"Martin will be writing for our growing national and international Spanish-speaking base," said Fred Kirsch, director of interactive media for the Patriots.
In addition to the blog, Morales will author a monthly Spanish-language newsletter. Spanish-speaking Patriots fans can sign up for the newsletter at /fanzone/public/index.cfm?ac=espanol.
