Memorable Moments: Patriots-Texans, presented by Empower
The New England Patriots have defeated the Houston Texans in five of six meetings since the teams first began playing in 2003. Here's a look back at those games.

Tom Brady threw a game-tying four-yard TD pass to TE Daniel Graham with 40 seconds left in the fourth quarter, and a 28-yard Adam Vinatieri field goal in overtime gave the Patriots a 23-20 win in the inaugural meeting between New England and Houston on Nov. 23, 2003.

The Patriots raced to a 27-0 halftime lead and never looked back in a 40-7 win over on Dec. 17, 2006. Kevin Faulk had a rushing and receiving TD, Ellis Hobbs returned a kickoff 93 yards for a score, and the Pats defense picked off Houston QB David Carr four times.

The Patriots opened up a 27-13 lead one minute into the fourth quarter, but the Texans scored 21 unanswered points – the final 14 on Arian Foster rushing TDs – to post a 34-27 win and claim their only victory in the series on Jan. 3, 2010.

New England bolted to a 28-0 early third-quarter lead thanks to four TD passes by Tom Brady in their 42-14 victory on Dec. 10, 2012. Patriots WR Brandon Lloyd caught a touchdown and scored another when he fell on a teammates' fumble in the end zone.

A little over a month after a 40-point performance against Houston, New England did it again – this time in the playoffs. RB Shane Vereen caught two TDs and ran for another, powering the Patriots to a 41-28 win in the AFC Divisional round on Jan. 13, 2013.

Stephen Gostkowski kicked a game-tying 53-yard field goal with 7:16 to go in regulation and hit another 53-yarder in overtime to give the Patriots a thrilling 34-31 win on Dec. 1, 2013. Rob Gronkowski caught 6 passes for 127 yards and a score.
