Arena team signs ex-Pro Bowl tackle Kennedy

Former Oakland Raiders offensive lineman Lincoln Kennedy, a three-time Pro Bowl performer who retired in 2004, signed with the Dallas Desperados of the Arena Football League. Terms of the deal were not released.

DALLAS (Jan. 23, 2007) -- Former Oakland Raiders offensive lineman Lincoln Kennedy, a three-time Pro Bowl performer who retired in 2004, signed with the Dallas Desperados of the Arena Football League.

Terms of the deal were not released. Kennedy joins the AFL after 11 seasons in the NFL. A career that ended when several injuries piled up his final year.

In his last season in 2003, Kennedy was listed around 6-foot-6 and 330 pounds.

"Lincoln will have to knock the rust off and be humble enough to understand this is a new game, and he is just one of the guys trying to make this team better," Desperados coach Will McClay said.

Kennedy was selected by Atlanta as the ninth overall pick in 1993. He played three seasons with the Falcons before being traded to Oakland in 1996.
