With the players off until training camp, it's been relatively slow here in Foxborough. With the official beginning of summer this week, Andy Hart wrapped up the spring practices with what he calls '10 mild takes'. John Rooke also gave his take on the team and says that the newcomers seem to be buying into the 'Patriot Way' well thus far.
The biggest news this week came on Monday when the team announced that it had signed first-round pick Dominique Easley. Though the Patriots have yet to officially release the details to the contract, reports say it's a four-year deal worth $7.3 million. Later in the week, the Patriots revealed the first set of Training Camp dates with the first public practice set for Thursday, July 24 at 9:15 a.m. at Gillette Stadium. With the dates now set, Jackie Brittain gave us '3 Points' to look out for when camp starts up. Be sure to come out on July 24 and catch a first glimpse at the 2014 Patriots!
Even though they weren't on the practice field, many of the players were still around town this week and a few of them made appearances on tv. Julian Edelman was on the NFL Network Tuesday and talked about Gronkowski, Revis, and Brady. The next day Devin McCourty went over to the NESN Studios in Watertown and compared Belichick with Greg Schiano as well as Julian Edelman and Wes Welker. Additionally, Dominique Easley, Jimmy Garoppolo and the other rookies traveled to Boston to volunteer at the Children's Hospital.
