NFL Spring Calendar

With the Super Bowl in the rear view mirror the NFL calendar is about to turn toward the 2006 league year.  Although the uncertainty of a new collective bargaining agreement could change things, as it stands the following is a list of key spring dates on the 2006 NFL calendar...

February 9 - 23 - Period during which clubs can designate franchise or transition players.

February 22 - 28 - Scouting Combine.

March 2 - Expiration of all 2005 player contracts. Deadline for exercising options for 2006 on all players who have option clauses in their 2005 contracts.

March 3 - Veteran free agency signing period begins. Trading period begins.

March 26 - 30 - NFL annual meeting.

April 21 - Deadline for signing of offer sheets by restricted free agents.

April 28 - Deadline for old club to exercise right of first refusal to restricted free agents.

April 29 - 30 - NFL Draft.
