In today's news blitz, the Herald reports that Tom Brady was back to throwing full-time during yesterday's practice.

Tom Brady was back participating full- time at yesterdays practice and showed no obvious signs of a sore or tired arm which had been previously speculated by several media sources. Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald takes a look at Tom Brady's performance during practice yesterday.

Patriots linebacker Monty Beisel showed flashes of why Bill Belichick and Scott Pioli of why they thought so highly of him as to sign him a free agent. Beisel led the team with 5 tackles including three solo in the 23-13 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. "Monty did some good things out there," Belichick said. "He had a lot of positive plays, some he could have done better . . . some things that were new to him, even though we've seen them in practice and talked about them. But at game speed, it happens a little bit different, a little bit quicker. " Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald offers a report on Beisel."

Patriots quarterback Matt Cassel has been the talk of training camp and looked sharp during during Friday's preseason game. Shalise Manza Young of the Providence Journal writes that Bill Belichick noted to the media yesterday to not get to ahead of ourselves in the evaluation of Cassel as he has only played in one preseason game. "Look, Matt came in, he did a good job," Belichick said. "I'm not saying ... the guy played one preseason game, made a lot of mistakes, came out and made some good plays. But it's a little too early to start working on his bust for Canton. I think it's way too early for that." Jerome Solomon of the Boston Globe, Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald and Mark Farinella of the Sun Chronicle all offer similar reports on the Patriots quarterback.

Patriots wide receivers Bam Childress and Jason Anderson played a big part in the 23-13 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Friday's preseason opener. Childress caught three passes for 39 yards and Anderson caught two passes for 24 yards. Though both wide receivers made an impression, they may be battling for a wide receiver spot that does not exist reports Alan Greenberg of the Hartford Courant.

Jerome Solomon of the Boston Globe writes an article on rookie cornerback Ellis Hobbs who put in a full nights work in the 23-13 win over the Bengals in Friday's preseason opener playing in many nickel and dime situations, as well as on several coverage and return teams.
