Dolphins add center Grove with five-year, $29M contract

Center Jake Grove has signed a multiyear contract with the Miami Dolphins, which could mean a shake-up in their offensive line.

MIAMI -- Center Jake Grove has signed a multiyear contract with the Miami Dolphins, which could mean a shake-up in their offensive line.

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that Grove's deal is worth $29.5 million over five years, with $14 million in guaranteed money.

Grove, who signed Tuesday, became an unrestricted free agent after spending his first five seasons with the Oakland Raiders. He's expected to challenge for a starting job with the Dolphins, who might move center Samson Satele to guard.

Satele has been Miami's starting center since the beginning of his rookie season in 2007.

Grove started 46 games at center and guard for Oakland, and he started 12 games at center last year. He was drafted in the second round out of Virginia Tech in 2004.
