INDIANAPOLIS - Thanks to many published reports over the last two weeks, the belief was that Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski would need surgery to repair the ankle injury that limited him in Sunday's Super Bowl loss.
A reporter asked the All-Pro after the game what the next step was leading up to surgery. Gronk questioned the question, leaving the reporter to say that his understanding was that second-year star would indeed need surgery.
"Yeah, you are wrong," Gronkowski said.
Later, Gronkowski said he would simply continue to rehab and treat the ankle.
"It will be good to go," Gronkowski said. "I'm not worried about it."
