HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (Aug. 11, 2005) -- The New York Jets signed cornerback Art Thomas and safety Atari Bigby to free-agent contracts.
Thomas was in training camp with the Jets last year and spent most of the season on the New York Giants' practice squad. He was released by the Giants on Aug. 3.
Thomas played cornerback during his first three seasons at Virginia before shifting to wide receiver. He's the only player in Cavaliers history to have touchdowns on a reception, interception and fumble return.
Bigby, an undrafted rookie from Central Florida, had 366 tackles in college.
