Patriots.com News Blitz - 3/6/2007

Wes Welker is one wealthy wideout. Read all about his trade to New England, and who else the Pats are courting, in Tuesday's Patriots.com News Blitz.

Over the weekend, the New England Patriots made news nationwide by signing Pro Bowl linebacker Adalius Thomas. Today, the three-time Super Bowl champs are once again the talk of the pro football world. It seems every outlet that covers the NFL has something to say about New England's trade with Miami for wide receiver Wes Welker.

NFL.com says the Patriots pass-catching position, a question mark last season, could become an exclamation point in '07, with Welker now on board and Philly free agent Donte Stallworth paying a visit to Gillette Stadium today.

He loves me, he loves me not. Perhaps Randy Moss feels that way about Bill Belichick, especially if Moss has been reading the Boston-area papers lately. The Pats head coach may not be as enamored with the temperamental Moss as earlier reported, according to ESPN.com.

But there are still media out there who think Randy Moss would look terrific in a Patriots uniform, like the Boston Herald, for instance. The Herald also points out that a potential problem exists with New England's interest in Stallworth.

So, with their recent free agent spending spree, you might be wondering if the Patriots are throwing out their fiscal playbook, or if it's just business as usual. Find out what The Boston Globe thinks in today's feature. The Globe also has an interesting note about punter Josh Miller, and where free agent linebacker Tully Banta-Cain is travelling next on his tour of NFL teams.

And if that's not enough coverage for you, there's plenty to read about these topics in *The Providence Journal*, *the **Patriot Ledger*, the *Sun Chron*icle, and the *Nashua Telegraph*.
