Seattle retains center Tobeck, WR Bannister

The Seattle Seahawks have retained two more of their own free agents, agreeing to terms with center Robbie Tobeck and special-teams standout Alex Bannister.

KIRKLAND, Wash. (March 31, 2005) -- The Seattle Seahawks have retained two more of their own free agents, agreeing to terms with center Robbie Tobeck and special-teams standout Alex Bannister.

Tobeck is expected to sign a two-year deal, and Bannister a four-year deal.

The 35-year-old Tobeck is a team captain and leader in the locker room, known as much for his practical jokes as for his effective blocking. He spent seven years with Atlanta before joining Seattle in 2000.

Bannister, who will turn 26 next month, has been a backup receiver during his four NFL seasons while developing into one of the league's top players on special teams.
