Cowboys sign safety Coleman

The Dallas Cowboys have signed safety Marcus Coleman to a one-year deal. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

IRVING, Texas (April 19, 2006) -- The Dallas Cowboys have signed safety Marcus Coleman to a one-year deal. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Coleman, a 10-year veteran, started 11 games last season at free safety for Houston. The former Texas Tech player was a fifth-round draft pick by the New York Jets in 1996 and spent six years with the club, including three seasons under Cowboys coach Bill Parcells. Coleman went to the Texans in the 2002 expansion draft.

Coleman has 516 tackles and 25 interceptions in his career.
