ATLANTA (Oct. 9, 2005) -- Atlanta Falcons linebacker Edgerton Hartwell was carted off the field in the opening seconds of the fourth quarter with a right foot injury.
Hartwell returned to the sideline midway through the quarter, walking on crutches with his foot in a brace.
The middle linebacker, signed as a free agent in the offseason, has started every game for the Falcons. He had 27 tackles and a pass deflection in the first four games.
In the second quarter, Atlanta defensive end Patrick Kerney was taken to the locker room with an undisclosed muscle strain. He returned in the second half, but was limited to passing situations.
