Miami's Poole out for the season after surgery

MIAMI (May 16, 2005) -- Dolphins cornerback Will Poole had reconstructive knee surgery May 16 and is expected to miss the entire 2005 season.

Poole tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during minicamp earlier in May. The second-year pro was the leading candidate to replace Pro Bowl cornerback Patrick Surtain, traded last month to Kansas City.

A fourth-round draft pick, the 5-foot-10 Poole played in 15 games last season, making 31 tackles and one sack.
