The move to Bryant College in Smithfield, R.I. went smoothly and the team was back out on the practice field in full pads for its only session of the day in the afternoon.

There were a couple of new faces on the field with the most noticeable being third-round draft pick J.R. Redmond, the Arizona State running back who ended his10-day holdout over the weekend. The 5-11, 216-pound back is still recovering from his groin surgery and was not in pads, but did run on the side.

The other new face was former New York Jets linebacker Rob Holmberg, who became the third former Jet to sign on with his former coach.

Special teams work was prominently featured in the practice and the first fight of camp almost broke out during kickoff work. Sean Morey was barreling downfield and was blocked by Tebucky Jones, who took offense to Morey hit and threw a punch at him. Morey went back at him briefly, but then hustled back to the kick coverage side of the field. Punter Lee Johnson nailed a couple of kickoffs to the goal line and it will be interesting to see if he seizes that role from Adam Vinatieri. During field goal work, the offense committed a couple of false start penalties to the chagrin of special teams coach Brad Seely, who ordered them back 5 yards. Vinatieri was 2-for-3 with a miss wide left from 42 yards. Vinatieri's competition, Chad Holleman, was 3-for-3.

Situations were featured during the practice with both the offense and defense running some unfamiliar looks at each other to force proper adjustments. The passing game seemed to struggle a bit, and running back Kevin Faulk fumbled for the second time of camp on a run up the middle. The team also spent time on clock management and the red zone.

Jason Andersen worked with the second team offensive line with Derrick Fletcher moving into the first group.

INJURIES: Ted Johnson (hamstring), Matt Bumgardner (unknown), Brandon Mitchell (calf), Dave Stachelski (concussion from minor car accident), Aaron Bailey (shoulder), James Kibble (ankle), Mike Woods (unknown), Lance Scott, Bruce Armstrong, Adrian Klemm, Todd Rucci, Grant Williams and Henry Thomas (all knee), and J.R. Redmond (groin).
