Bills RB McGahee misses practice with illness

Bills running back Willis McGahee didn't practice because of an illness. McGahee wasn't added to the injury report, and coach Mike Mularkey said he believes McGahee will be fine when Buffalo (4-8) hosts New England (7-5) this Sunday.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (Dec. 9, 2005) -- Bills running back Willis McGahee didn't practice because of an illness.

McGahee wasn't added to the injury report, and coach Mike Mularkey said he believes McGahee will be fine when Buffalo (4-8) hosts New England (7-5) this Sunday.

McGahee has rushed for 1,029 yards this year, and is tied with Cleveland's Reuben Droughns as the fifth-ranked rusher in the AFC.

Meanwhile, Mularkey is "hopeful" starting right guard Chris Villarrial will play Sunday. Villarrial is listed as questionable after injuring a hamstring in Buffalo's loss last Sunday to Miami. Villarrial practiced on a limited basis for the first time this week.

If Villarrial can't play, rookie lineman Duke Preston will take his place.
