Chargers' Polk tears Achilles

SAN DIEGO (June 16, 2005) -- San Diego linebacker Carlos Polk tore his left Achilles tendon during the team's final offseason coaching session and is expected to miss the 2005 season.

Polk was injured June 15 but the team didn't announce it until June 16.

Polk is expected to be out for six to nine months. He was coming off a shoulder injury that limited him to just one game last year.
