Colts CB Harper agrees to new contract

Cornerback Nick Harper, a starter in 27 games the past two seasons, agreed to a two-year contract to remain with the Indianapolis Colts.

INDIANAPOLIS (April 15, 2005) -- Cornerback Nick Harper, a starter in 27 games the past two seasons, agreed to a two-year contract to remain with the Indianapolis Colts.

Harper became a free agent in March but decided to stay in Indianapolis, which first signed him as a free agent in 2001.

"There was quite a bit of interest in Nick and a couple of interesting situations," agent Hadley Engelhard told The Indianapolis Star. "We kept our options open. But in the end, Nick really wanted to stay in Indy. Fortunately there was a meeting of the minds."

Harper, 30, had three interceptions last season after a team-high four in 2003.

The Colts also confirmed they had re-signed starting defensive linemen Raheem Brock. Terms of the deals were not disclosed.
