  • Eagles Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie was born and raised in the Boston area. He earned his B.A. from Clark University in Worcester, Mass., his master's degree from Boston University and doctorate from Brandeis University in Waltham, Mass., and several of his business interests remain headquartered in the greater Boston area.
  • Eagles special teams coordinator Dave Fipp spent two seasons (1998 safeties, 1999 secondary/special teams coordinator) coaching at Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass.
  • Eagles offensive line coach and run game coordinator Jeff Stoutland was a four-year letterman and three-year starter at inside linebacker at Southern Connecticut State. He earned Little All-America honors as a senior and was named a team captain. Stoutland began his coaching career at his alma mater as the inside linebackers coach from 1984-85. In 1988, he returned for his second coaching stint at the school where he served as the team's offensive coordinator for four seasons.
  • Eagles defensive quality control/assistant secondary coach Dino Vasso was a four-year defensive back at the University of New Hampshire (2006-10). He started 51 consecutive games and earned first-team AFCA All-American honors as a senior.
  • Eagles President Don Smolenski attended Amherst College which is located in Amherst, Mass. for his undergraduate degree.
  • Eagles TE Richard Rodgers grew up in Shrewsbury, Mass. and attended St. John's High School.


  • Patriots FB James Develin hails from Gilbertsville, Pa., a town about an hour from Philadelphia. He attended Boyertown Area Senior High School, where he lettered in football and lacrosse and was named a football team captain and team MVP.
  • Patriots special teams coach Joe Judge was born in Philadelphia, Pa. And played quarterback and strong safety during a four-year high school career at Landsdale (Pa.) Catholic High School under Jim Algeo. He was named All Area as a junior and senior.
  • Patriots defensive line coach Brendan Daly coached the defensive line at Villanova in 2005.


  • Eagles DE Chris Long played for the Patriots in 2016 and was a member of the Super Bowl LI championship team. In his one season at New England, Long played in all 16 regular season games with seven starts and totaled 35 tackles, four sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He also played in the team's three playoff games.
  • Eagles LB Kamu Grugier-Hill was drafted by the Patriots in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft but was released during roster cut downs at the end of training camp that year.
  • Eagles defensive backs coach Cory Undlin began his NFL career in 2004 as a defensive assistant with the New England Patriots, working with the secondary. In his one year with the Patriots, he helped the team capture a victory in Super Bowl XXXIX.
  • Eagles assistant offensive line/tight ends/run game coach Eugene Chung entered the NFL with the Patriots as the team's first-round pick (13th overall) in the 1992 NFL Draft and played at New England for three seasons.
  • Eagles WR Kamar Aiken was on the Patriots active roster for four games in 2012, including two postseason contests.
  • Eagles CB D.J. Killings signed with the Patriots as an undrafted rookie in 2017 and spent training camp with New England before being released in roster cut downs.


  • Patriots S Patrick Chung spent the 2013 season with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he started in 10 of the 12 games he played and compiled 56 tackles, seven passes defense and one fumble recovery. Chung recorded four tackles in Philadelphia's postseason game vs. New Orleans.
  • Patriots DB Eric Rowe was drafted by Philadelphia in the second round (47th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft and played one season for the Eagles before being traded to the Patriots. As a rookie, Rowe started five of 16 games played – including his first career start at New England – and tallied 25 tackles, one tackle for loss and one interception.
  • Patriots OL Matt Tobin was signed by the Eagles out of Iowa and played for them from 2013-16.
  • New England WR Paul Turner was signed by Philadelphia and spent time on the team's practice squad and active roster in the 2016 season. He played in four games, notching nine receptions and 126 yards.


  • When Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was the head coach of the Browns, Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz entered the NFL under Belichick's tutelage in 1993 as a college/pro scout for Cleveland.
  • Eagles LB Nigel Bradham and CB Ronald Darby were teammates with Patriots CB Stephon Gilmore, WR Chris Hogan and RB Mike Gillislee in Buffalo.
  • Additionally, Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz served in the same capacity at the Bills in 2014 and coached Gilmore and Hogan at Buffalo.
  • Eagles QB Nick Foles and Patriots WR Kenny Britt were teammates at the St. Louis Rams in 2015. Under the tutelage of Eagles offensive coordinator Mike Groh, who served as the Rams' wide receivers coach/passing game coordinator in 2016, Britt also achieved his first 1,000-yard campaign at Los Angeles that season.
  • Patriots defensive line coach Brendan Daly (2009-11) and Patriots offensive coordinator/quarterbacks Josh McDaniels (2011) served in the same capacity at the Rams, and Eagles linebackers coach Ken Flajole (2009-11) was the defensive coordinator with Eagles DE Chris Long from 2009-11.
  • Patriots WR Kenny Britt played with Eagles DE Chris Long and DB Rodney McLeod for the St. Louis Rams from 2014-15.
  • Patriots DE Adrian Clayborn played on the same defensive line as Eagles DE Michael Bennett (2011-12) and DE Steven Means (2013-14) for Tampa Bay.
  • Patriots DL Lawrence Guy and Eagles DT Haloti Ngata were part of the same defensive unit on the 2014 Ravens.
  • Eagles DT Haloti Ngata played with Patriots LB Kyle Van Noy (2015-16) and OL LaAdrian Waddle (2015) during his time with Detroit.
  • Patriots OL Luke Bowanko played on the same line as Eagles OL Stefen Wisniewski on Jacksonville in 2015.
  • Patriots OL Matt Tobin played on the opposite side of the ball of Philadelphia DE Michael Bennett for Seattle in 2017.
  • Patriots WR Kenny Britt lined up alongside Eagles G Chance Warmack in 2013 when the two played for the Tennessee Titans.
  • Patriots DL Lawrence Guy played at Baltimore with Eagles DT Tim Jernigan and WR Kamar Aiken from 2014-16.

  • Patriots DB Eddie Pleasant played with Eagles T Taylor Hart at Oregon from 2009-11.
  • Philadelphia WR Alshon Jeffrey played with New England QB Brian Hoyer for Chicago in 2016.
  • Patriots OL James Ferentz teamed up with Eagles LB Corey Nelson on Denver from 2015-16. The two were a part of the 2015 Super Bowl Championship team.
  • Patriots DE Adrian Clayborn played with Eagles TE Joshua Perkins (2016) and LB LaRoy Reynolds (2016-17) in Atlanta.
  • Eagles WR Mike Wallace has played with six different Patriots during his 10-year career. He played with QB Brian Hoyer for Pittsburgh in 2012, with RB Mike Gillislee on Miami from 2013-14 and with WR Cordarrelle Patterson on Minnesota in 2015. While with Baltimore, Wallace played with OL Luke Bowanko (2017), DL Lawrence Guy (2016) and LB Nicholas Grigsby.
  • Philadelphia LB LaRoy Reynolds played with New England OL Luke Bowanko briefly on Jacksonville in 2015. The two were also college teammates at Virginia.
  • Patriots OL Ulrick John and Eagles TE Richard Rodgers spent the 2017 season together on Green Bay.
  • Eagles OL Chance Warmack teamed up with a trio of Patriots in Tennessee, playing with DB Jason McCourty (2013-16), WR Kenny Britt (2013) and OL Brian Schwenke (2013-16).
  • Eagles WR Bryce Treggs played with Patriots DB Jason McCourty and DL Danny Shelton on Cleveland in 2017.


  • Eagles QB Carson Wentz played at North Dakota State from 2014-15 while Patriots coaching assistant Atif Austin worked there as the special teams coordinator and wide receivers coach.
  • Patriots RB James White played with Eagles RB Corey Clement for the 2013 season at Wisconsin.
  • New England CB Stephon Gilmore played with Philadelphia WR Alshon Jeffrey for the entirety of their college careers at South Carolina (2009-11).
  • Patriots consultant to the head coach Bret Bielema was the co-defensive coordinator at Kansas State while Eagles RB Darren Sproles played there from 2002-03.
  • Eagles OL Chance Warmack played with two Patriots during his time at Alabama. He teamed up with Patriots LB Dont'a Hightower from 2009-11, winning a national title together in 2011. Additionally, Warmack played with CB Cyrus Jones in 2012 for the Crimson Tide.
  • Patriots QB Brian Hoyer and Eagles QB Nick Foles played together at Michigan State in 2007. Foles was also teammates with Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski at Arizona after transferring in 2008, but the two never took the field together. Foles had to redshirt in 2008 and Gronkowski missed his final season at Arizona in 2009 – Foles' first to play as a Wildcat – due to an injury. Foles and Patriots LB Marquis Flowers were also teammates at Arizona from 2010-11.
  • Patriots TE Will Tye teamed up with Eagles LB Nigel Bradham at Florida State in 2011. Eagles CB Ronald Darby also played at Florida State with Patriots Tye (2012) and TE Ryan Izzo (2014). Finally, Eagles DT Tim Jernigan played with Tye from 2011-12. Tye transferred to Stony Brook after the 2012 season.
  • Eagles DB Chris Maragos played under Patriots consultant to the head coach Bret Bielema from 2008-09 when he was head coach at Wisconsin.
  • Patriots DL Danny Shelton played on defense with Eagles CB Sidney Jones (2014) and DT Elijah Qualls (2013-14) at Washington.
  • Patriots DB Jordan Richards played with Eagles TE Zach Ertz (2011-13) and DT Aziz Shittu (2012-14) at Stanford.
  • Patriots DL Malcolm Brown played on the same Texas defense as Eagles LB Jordan Hicks from 2012-14.
  • Eagles WR Mike Wallace was on Oregon with Patriots RB Brandon Bolden in 2008.
  • Patriots P Ryan Allen played on Oregon State with Eagles WR Markus Wheaton in 2009.

  • Patriots OL Luke Bowanko played with Eagles DB Rodney McLeod at Virginia from 2009-11.
  • Eagles DB Jalen Mills teamed up with four Patriots during his time at LSU: QB Danny Etling (2015), DL Frank Herron (2014-15), RB Jeremy Hill (2012-14) and WR Paul Turner (2012).
  • Philadelphia OL Toby Weathersby played at LSU with Patriots QB Danny Etling and DL Frank Herron from 2015-17.
  • Patriots DL Danny Shelton played with Eagles TE Joshua Perkins at Washington from 2011-14.
  • Patriots OL Luke Bowanko and Eagles LB LaRoy Reynolds played together at Virginia from 2009-12.
  • Eagles DB Stephen Roberts played on the same Auburn defense as Patriots LB Brandon King (2014) and DB Jonathan Jones (2014-15).
