IRVING, Texas (Feb. 15, 2006) -- Vincent Brown was hired as the Dallas Cowboys' middle linebackers coach, reuniting him with coach Bill Parcells.
Brown spent his entire eight-year NFL playing career (1988-95) in New England, the last three when Parcells was the Patriots' coach. Brown was a middle linebacker in New England's 3-4 defense, starting 103 of his 123 career games with 811 tackles, 16½ sacks and 10 interceptions.
Paul Pasqualoni, who coached tight ends last season, will move to defense and oversee the linebackers.
Former linebackers coach Gary Gibbs last month became defensive coordinator for New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton, who was the Cowboys' passing game coordinator and called the plays last season.
Brown spent the past four years as an assistant coach at Meadowcreek High in Norcross, Ga., where he was also the school's athletic director. He worked with inside linebackers at the Cowboys training camp last summer in California.
