Guard Shawn Andrews, a first-round pick in 2004, signed a seven-year contract extension with the Philadelphia Eagles. Andrews broke his right leg in the first game of his rookie season, but started 16 games last year at right guard and was an alternate for the NFC Pro Bowl squad.

PHILADELPHIA (June 12, 2006) -- Guard Shawn Andrews, a first-round pick in 2004, signed a seven-year contract extension with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Andrews broke his right leg in the first game of his rookie season, but started 16 games last year at right guard and was an alternate for the NFC Pro Bowl squad.

Andrews, 6-foot-4 and 340 pounds, was the second offensive lineman taken in the 2004 NFL Draft behind Oakland's Robert Gallery. The Eagles traded their first- and second-round picks to move up 12 spots to select Andrews at No. 16.
