Running back Cedric Houston, the New York Jets' sixth-round pick, signed with the team. The 6-foot, 220-pound Houston played at Tennessee, where he is fifth on the career rushing list with 2,634 yards in 49 games.

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (June 8, 2005) -- Running back Cedric Houston, the New York Jets' sixth-round pick, signed with the team.

The 6-foot, 220-pound Houston played at Tennessee, where he is fifth on the career rushing list with 2,634 yards in 49 games.

The Jets also released quarterback Bill Whittemore, signed just over two weeks ago.
