With 14 seconds remaining in a meeting of AFC first-place teams, the Patriots veteran defensive end stopped Colts running back Edgerrin James in the backfield on fourth down on the New England one-yard line. The game-winning tackle preserved New England's 38-34 road win and helped the Patriots improve to an AFC East leading 10-2 record. The win marks the first time in team history that the Patriots have won 10 of their first 12 games.

McGinest's tackle edged out Miami Dolphins wide receiver Chris Chamber's leaping six-yard touchdown reception from Jay Fiedler on Thanksgiving Day against the Dallas Cowboys in fan voting on NFL.com.
