Foxborough, MA (June 18, 2012) – The Kraft Sports Group announced that the FieldTurf surface in the Dana-Farber Fieldhouse, installed in 2002, will be upgraded with a new FieldTurf Classic surface this summer.  The facility hosts practices for the New England Patriots and the New England Revolution.

Both the Patriots and Revolution play their home games on Gillette Stadium's FieldTurf surface, which was installed in 2006 and resurfaced in 2010.

"We have enjoyed great success with our FieldTurf surfaces in both Gillette Stadium and the Dana-Farber Fieldhouse," said Jim Nolan, Sr. Vice President of Finance, Administration and Operations for Gillette Stadium. "FieldTurf provides the best possible game and practice surfaces for our teams while maintaining the consistency and integrity of these high-use fields."
"FieldTurf is delighted to continue our long-standing relationship with the Patriots and Revolution," said FieldTurf President Eric Daliere.  "We are obviously very gratified by the tremendous confidence in our product that is being displayed by The Kraft Sports Group.  We are absolutely dedicated to providing them with the finest playing surface available in the world today."

The Patriots are one of seven teams in the NFL to play their home games on FieldTurf, a group that includes the New York Giants, New York Jets, Atlanta Falcons, Detroit Lions, Seattle Seahawks and Indianapolis Colts.  In total, 22 of the NFL's 32 teams have chosen FieldTurf for their stadiums and / or practices facilities.

The Revolution are among three MLS teams, along with the Portland Timbers and Seattle Sounders, to play their home games on FieldTurf. Gillette Stadium's FieldTurf surface has earned FIFA 2-Star recommended status for the past two years.

In addition to Patriots and Revolution practices, The Dana-Farber Fieldhouse hosts Revolution Academy youth teams and player development programs, Patriots Cheerleader practices and other events.

Every other year, the NFL Players Association conducts a survey of all NFL players who are asked to rank the league's 31 stadium fields on a variety of factors, such as playability, safety, etc.  FieldTurf consistently gets high marks from the NFLPA survey.  For the 10th consecutive year, FieldTurf emerged as the leader among all artificial turf brands in the 2010 National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) Playing Surfaces Opinion Survey.  An impressive three out of the league's top four artificial surfaces were FieldTurf fields.

In addition to FieldTurf's NFL fields, more than 100 major NCAA universities have it in their stadiums, including Oregon, Missouri, Nebraska, Rutgers, Michigan, Wisconsin, Washington, Louisville, West Virginia and Fresno State.

FieldTurf is the result of years of research - evident in the patented FieldTurf infill mix of silica sand and cryogenic rubber and patented layering process that deliver a system that emulates natural grass. Additional benefits are found in improved player safety and reduced maintenance costs.
