The San Francisco 49ers and offensive lineman Eric Heitmann agreed to terms on a four-year contract extension. The Niners also released offensive tackle Scott Gragg, who joined the team as a free agent in 2000.

SAN FRANCISCO (June 2, 2005) -- The San Francisco 49ers and offensive lineman Eric Heitmann agreed to terms on a four-year contract extension.

The Niners also released offensive tackle Scott Gragg, who joined the team as a free agent in 2000.

Heitmann, entering his fourth season in the NFL, started every game last year at left guard for San Francisco. The seventh-round draft pick in 2002 has played 41 games in his career.

"His dedication, discipline and hard work has helped to identify Eric as the type of player we want on our team," head coach Mike Nolan said. "His youth, experience and versatility gives us flexibility on our offensive line."
