Packers re-sign backup TE Steele

The Green Bay Packers re-signed tight end Ben Steele.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (April 4, 2005) -- The Green Bay Packers re-signed tight end Ben Steele.

Steele will return for his second season in Green Bay after backing up Bubba Franks when an injury sidelined No. 2 backup David Martin in late November.

Steele had four receptions for 42 yards and 17 special-teams tackles in 15 games last season.

The Packers signed the 6-foot-5, 250-pound Steele to the practice squad in September after he spent the 2003 and 2004 training camps with the Minnesota Vikings.
